Some Info - I am a sea going oceanographer who collects observational data using fixed mooring arrays, ship-based surveys, and autonomous drifting floats. I enjoy the challenge of processing and analyzing complex datasets to better inform our understanding ocean dynamics.

Research Statement

Deployment, processing, quality control, and analysis of Eulerian and Lagrangian flow data used to study ocean dynamics and the interaction of the ocean with the atmosphere, land, and bottom boundary layer. Development and improvement of data processing software and packages to be used by the scientific community. Creation of data visualizations to communicate the complexities of ocean dynamics. Comparison of oceanographic models with observations to evaluate model performance. Data submissions to national data centers for moored, shipboard, float, and telemetered data.
