Research Statement

My research interests involve working in the forefront of ocean exploration, facilitating how large data sets are collected through the development, implementation, and testing of new technologies. More specifically the development of new sensors for use in autonomous underwater vehicles. I have broad interests in emerging technologies, phytoplankton physiology, and the ties between climate change and ecosystem vulnerability especially in sub-polar/polar ecosystems. I also feel strongly about communicating ocean science to the public and encouraging young women interested in STEM fields.
