Research Statement
Trained in marine geosciences, I am a metamorphic petrologist interested in fluid–seafloor interactions and their physical, chemical, and biologic consequences. My research includes work on elemental cycling, redox changes, and bioenergy production associated with the hydrothermal alteration of mafic & ultramafic rocks during their journey from mid-ocean ridge to shallow subduction settings.
I was awarded a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which brought me to WHOI to work on the Aurora and Polaris hydrothermal systems in the ice-covered Arctic Ocean together with Chris German, Jeff Seewald, and Frieder Klein.
See my personal blog, google scholar, and researchgate for updates on my work and my publication record.
