Research Statement

My research focuses on developing advanced signal processing methods for distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) to study Arctic sea-ice and coastal dynamics. By leveraging DAS’s unique ability to provide high-resolution, spatially continuous measurements, I aim to better understand ice, such as ocean interactions, resolve ice thickness and dynamics, and enhance passive acoustic monitoring of marine mammals and ships in polar environments. This work seeks to expand the information extractable from DAS data and improve situational awareness in rapidly changing Arctic regions.
