Chemistry and physics of the sea surface microlayer; sources, composition, and distribution of surface active organic materials in the marine microlayer; mechanisms of air-sea gas exchange; remote sensing of air-sea gas fluxes; applications of chromatography and mass spectrometry to characterization of marine organic matter.
