Research Interests

I am a physical oceanographer focused on understanding Arctic Ocean dynamics, and mechanisms that control the distribution and variability of energy and tracers throughout the global ocean (e.g., eddy stirring and diffusivity, internal wave dynamics, atmosphere-ice-ocean interactions). I collect and utilize observations in the global ocean, and in particular, the Arctic Ocean. My goal is to understand key processes, interactions between these processes, and their net effects on the ocean and climate system.
